WWII soldiers sometimes went days without eating a hot meal. What did they consume instead? The K-Ration. Packaged in plain, brown boxes and labeled BREAKFAST, LUNCH and DINNER, these meals equipped US soldiers with the calories necessary for survival. They were developed by U of M scientist Ancel Keys.
