The 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team, which included 12 men from Minnesota and was coached by Herb Brooks, a native of St. Paul, was a young and ragtag crew. So when they beat the Soviets, winners of four consecutive Olympic titles, the world was shocked, and the Americans were thrilled beyond belief.
