The student radio organization will raise awareness of college radio stations.
The Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations (Ampers) secured a record amount of state funding for its member stations for the FY14 – FY15 biennium. The Minnesota State Legislature awarded Ampers and its member stations $234,000 in equipment grants, $784,000 in community service grants, and $3.3 million for arts and cultural heritage programming.
Needing to reach students, small business owners, as well as minority and rural communities, MNsure, Minnesota’s new health care exchange, turned to Ampers, the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations. MNsure is running a seven month underwriting campaign on all fifteen of Ampers’ local community radio stations. The messages are airing in English, Hmong, Somali, Oromo, and Spanish.
Ampers member stations, KVSC, St. Cloud and WTIP, Grand Marais received awards from the Minnesota Associated Press.

The Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations’ board of directors has voted unanimously to make Joel Glaser the organization’s new chief executive officer. The company also announced that Erin Warhol will become Ampers’ new full-time program director.
