Born in Kansas City and trained as a classical pianist, Reginald Buckner became a professor at the University of Minnesota where he helped establish the first jazz groups and courses. He also led a jazz quartet under his own name. Buckner visits with longtime jazz broadcaster Leigh Kamman.
