New Salty Dog gets wild from Duluth on Scenic Route

New Salty Dog is a Duluth based band that defies definitions, expectations, and perhaps even the laws of physics. Their extremely creative and jammy sound stems from singer and guitarist Jacob Mahon, his brother Owen on drums, and an array of friends. They join Will Moore on Scenic Route as a six-piece band from a living room in Duluth via the magic of the internet.

This week on Minnesota Music Notes Brett Carter features Minneapolis-born singer/songwriter Ted Hajnasiewicz. According to his publicity, Hajnasiewicz is driven to write the perfect song. If doing the work is part of that, Hajnasiewicz is busily moving in that direction. Listen for catchy vocals, polished backing musicians, and a wide variety of messages in his lyrics. Just in the last year, Hajnasiewicz released a full-length album, nine singles, an EP and launched a YouTube show called The Just for Show Show.

Zoe Carrasco was attending Girls State in St. Paul when Officer Jeronimo Yanez was acquitted of killing Philando Castile. It changed her perspective and the trajectory of her life. She studies Criminal Justice at Bemidji State University where she’s also a member of the track and field team and President of the BSU Black Student Union. Minnesota Music Notes Featuring Reina del Sid

This week on Minnesota Music notes Brett Carter features Twin Cities singer/songwriter Reina del Sid. During the pandemic, Reina started hosting livestream concerts with guitarist Toni Lingdren as a way to stay connected with her audience. Reina Del Cid describes herself as an English major nerd with a penchant for sci-fi tv shows, Virginia Woolf, fine chocolate, coffee and good whiskey (neat). Prior to the pandemic, Reina del Cid toured extensively and gained a strong following in the United States, Europe, and online. With the hope of vaccines and herd immunity, the band will head to Australia this October.
