Rich Lewis Band performs live on WTIP

The Rich Lewis Band hails from the Twin Cities and combines rock, blues, R&B, and soul into their eclectic sound. Lewis and several of the other members have been playing together, and with other notable Minnesota musicians, for over 50 years.

The group joined Dave and Julie on the back porch during a weekend playing at the Gunflint Tavern.

Charmin Michelle and Dennis Spears have been friends for so long that it’s kind of a surprise that they’ve never shared a stage. But that changes this Sunday at 6 PM at Crooner’s in Minneapolis. When Charmin and Dennis got together with Phil Nusbaum, the talk turned to some of their old Minneapolis hangouts, like the long departed Times Bar.

Maud Hixson Presents Two Great Shows at Crooner’s in Minneapolis

Maud Hixson performs Songs of the 1920s this Saturday July 24 at Crooner’s in Minneapolis. Then on Sunday August 1, Maud is right back at Crooner’s with a 6-piece group, French 75. Maud has been very successful presenting shows about specific eras. When Maud talked to Phil Nusbaum, he asked where that idea comes from.


New foods coming to the state fair this year

After losing a year of the Minnesota State Fair to COVID, the fair is on track to open again this summer as usual. And of course, that means…new foods! Nikki Hines is the person that books the food vendors for the fair. She joined Julie to give us a preview of what we can expect.
