The Reif Center Dance Program has enhanced lives of dancers in Grand Rapids and the surrounding communities for over 30 years with a wide array of movement options including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hiphop and even clogging.
This summer, a special reunion weekend will bring dance friends back together for two days of connection, community, and, of course, dancing.

Lara Hicks graduated from Bemidji High School in 2017. As Executive Assistant and Assistant United Nations (UN) Representative for UNANIMA International at the UN, her work empowers women and children living in extreme poverty across the globe. Katie Carter caught up with Lara at her office just as the 66th Annual Commission on the Status of Women was winding down. They discussed Lara’s journey to the UN, her work, and what gives her hope for women and girls in the future. Lara also shared advice for anyone considering work in global affairs.

So many signs of spring outside! Along with the budding of the aspen comes the biking of the human. Natalie Gille is the Greater MN Program Manager for Bike MN. She’s an instructor for the League of American Bicyclists and the lead ninja for the Pedaling Ninjas, a family friendly bike riding group in Bemidji.
Pedaling Ninjas is a local biking group taking part in a 30 day bike challenge with Bemidji Parks and Recreation– the Burley Brigade aims to connect family, friends and community thru biking…Bike MN engages people, provides education, and advocates for biking and walking.
