Ruth’s Free Wig Closet Comes to Grand Rapids

Jeanie and Janie Martz are twin sisters who started Ruth’s Free Wig Closet of Aitken 20 years ago. Ruth’s Free Wig Closet is a non-profit organization that offers wigs, wig styling and cutting, hats, scarves and caps at no charge to those suffering from hair loss due to chemotherapy or other medical situations. They join Heidi and John in the studio for an Area Voices segment on the Friday Morning Show.
Joining the group are Jesse Davis and Sharon Rasmussen of the Move It Real Estate Group in Grand Rapids. They talk about the new Ruth’s Free Wig Closet opening in Grand Rapids at the United Methodist Church.

Headwaters Science Center: Science You Can Touch

Lee Furuseth, the executive director of the Headwaters Science Center in Bemidji, joins Heidi Holtan on the Wednesday Morning Show. Lee starts with the announcement of Orion the bunny rabbit’s retirement from the center after over 5 years of “petting employment.”

HCS is celebrating their 28th birthday this March by offering a free demo every Sunday at 3:30. HSC is also celebrating Pi Day on 3.14 or Monday, March 14th. They are giving out free admission tickets for that day. Local businesses who deal with “round things” are getting involved by giving tickets out to the public. Giovanni’s, First National Bank, Raphael’s Bakery, Kenny’s Clark and St. Michel Furniture.
