Growing Up In A Cult

What is a cult? To many of us cults can be a point of mystery and confusion. One definition of a cult is a social group characterized by its unusual religious, spiritual, or philosophical beliefs and rituals. Today on culture clique we speak with a former cult member, Elizabeth Perry. Elizabeth shares the isolation, confusion, and struggles she experienced, her eventual separation from her family and the healing that came with the world that was hidden from her. I’m Jiovani Bermudez, join us as we learn about growing up in a cult of religious extremist through the eyes of someone who’s lived through it on today’s Culture Clique.
Original air date: 09/22/22

Astronomy in the Parks with Jennifer Anderson

Vincent van Gogh once said, “I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of stars makes me dream,” and I would have to agree with van Gogh. The night sky is a treasure that we can all enjoy, as long as you can get out of the city lights, and today on Culture Clique Professor Jennifer Anderson tells us how we can do just that this weekend. Jennifer is leading an event called Astronomy in the Parks this Saturday evening in Merrick State Park near Fountain City, WI. The event kicks off at 7pm but feel free to come early as Jennifer has some fun facts and activities involving the sun as it sets as well!
I’m Bill Stoneberg, asking you to look up! as we talk stars and the night sky with Professor Jennifer Anderson, on Culture Clique.

The musical will run this Friday and Saturday at 7pm at the Valencia Arts Center here in Winona.
