Boats and Bluegrass 2022: Maygen and the Bird Watchers

Crossing Arts Exhibit : The Passion of Maui Heats up Downtown Brainerd

The Crossing Arts Alliance in Brainerd hosts Chicago-based Trotter Alexander’s exhibit The Story of Ka Makana O’ka this month. The series draws on the artist’s deep love for Maui and his time spent with living with locals on the island. His show – an infusion of abstract realism, Hawaiian and Chicago street art, indigenous legends, symbolism, and so much fiery passion…is a collection visitors won’t soon forget.

Beyond Evacuation with Najib Azad

KQAL’s Jiovani Bermudez Meets with author Najib Azad who has lived in Afghanistan where he worked as a spokesperson for the former Afghan president. As a result of the ever-growing conflict in his homeland, he left with his family to the United States, where he has written a memoir about his experiences. Najib came to the campus of Winona State University as part of their Global Education Week. In the event he discusses his life in Afghanistan and the experiences he had coming here. After the presentation, Najib agreed to sit with us for an interview.
