Pat, who is going on 107 years old, says she was surprised that her difficulty breathing was caused by a heart problem, not her lungs.
On Thursday, February 13th, the lobby of the Winona County History Center was packed full of eager people waiting to hear love poems penned and delivered by Winona’s former poet laureate, Ken McCullough. The event was entitled, “Heartsongs” and timing was perfect for such an event, it being the eve of Valentine’s Day. The presentation was set to the sweet sounds of live music by violinist Betsy Neil and pianist Mark McGuire. Ken McCullough is celebrating 45 years of being a published poet, and he thought what better way than to present a collection of his own love poems. McCullough received a Grant from The MN Arts Board, called an Artist Initiative, and what you will hear this evening is his capstone event.
