Culture Clique Presents: “Winona LaDuke”

Winona LaDuke is an Anishinaabekwe (Ojibwe) enrolled member of the Mississippi Band Anishinaabeg who lives and works on the White Earth Reservations, and is the mother of three children. She is also the Executive Director of Honor the Earth, where she works on a national level to advocate, raise public support, and create funding for frontline native environmental groups. Winona LaDuke (Anishinaabe) is an internationally acclaimed author, orator and activist. A graduate of Harvard and Antioch Universities with advanced degrees in rural economic development, LaDuke has devoted her life to protecting the lands and life ways of Native communities.  On this episode of Culture Clique, we bring you Winona’s talk as presented at the Frozen River Film Festival on the campus of Winona State University. In the talk, Winona will discuss how fracking and energy pipelines pose a threat to our environment.
