They come from all over. They come on motorcycles, in motorhomes, in cars with Prisoner of War/Missing in Action plates. They come from down the road. They are the veterans of the United States Armed Forces. What draws them together is the Veterans’ Powwow. The Fond du Lac reservation has hosted the event for over 20 years. And the idea is simple: to honor the men and women who served their country. The vets swap stories. They meet up with old friends and make new ones. But more important, WGZS producer Britt Aamodt (AH-mit) disovered, is that they still have each other’s backs.
