1898 – Minnesota troops were getting ready to board a ship that would take them to the Spanish-American War in the Philippines when they added a 17-year-old bugler from Colorado. The bugler would go on to become writer Damon Runyon, whose stories would inspire “Guys and Dolls.” Here’s Britt Aamodt.
