JOB TITLE: Administrative & Digital Coordinator 
REPORTS TO: Executive Director (administrative duties); Advancement (digital coordination duties)

POSITION SUMMARY: WTIP seeks a full-time Administrative & Digital Coordinator to lead administrative support for the station, coordinate digital content and communications, and serve as a welcoming point of contact for the public. This position works closely with the Executive Director on day-to-day administrative operations and with the Advancement team on social media, e-newsletter, and website coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and comfortable managing a varied workload across office administration, digital communications, and public-facing customer service.

About WTIP

WTIP (Cook County Community Radio) exists as a dynamic, local media resource that connects, reflects, and builds community on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

WTIP is the oldest community radio station broadcasting on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Visitors and residents spread out over 1,500 square miles of woods and waters come together through WTIP, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides an arena for information-gathering, discussion, and expression.

Job Summary

Essential Job Duties

Administrative Support (40%)

  • Maintain office supply inventory and station merchandise/online store inventory
  • Provide general office support to all staff
  • Assist the Executive Director and bookkeeper with organizing financial documents, accounts payable, credit card reconciliation, and bank deposits
  • Other administrative duties as necessary, or as assigned 

Digital Coordination (40%)

  • Manage the various WTIP social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube)
    • Post WTIP staff content from WTIP staff to WTIP’s social media channels 
    • Create assets as needed for marketing/engagement across WTIP’s social media channels
  • Produce and distribute the e-newsletter
  • Provide ongoing support and updates to the WTIP website
  • Promote programming via website, social media, and on-air messages
  • Other digital coordination duties as necessary, or as assigned by Advancement

Public-Facing Customer Support (10%)

  • Answer phones (for Pop Quiz+), greet in-person guests, and respond to general email inquiries
  • Provide welcoming, responsive service to listeners, members, and visitors

Organizational (10%)

  • Attend and participate in weekly team meetings and check-ins to collaborate and address topics that affect the overall health and success of the organization
  • Participate in WTIP’s main fundraising drives + events
  • Perform other duties, within capacity

Qualifications

  • Superb written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Editing and proofreading abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work across multiple areas of responsibility
  • Enjoys interaction with a wide variety of people
  • Demonstrated time management skills and flexibility
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and comfort creating digital content
  • Proficiency with software and tools including Microsoft Office Suite, customer management software (CMS), graphic design software, and email marketing programs
  • Creative, self-starter
  • Organized and inspiring team member

Location: WTIP Station, 1712 West Hwy 61, Grand Marais, MN 55604

Schedule: 9-5, Monday-Friday + occasional special events

Salary + Benefits: $24-$25/hour (Rates based on qualifications and experience) + SIMPLE IRA + healthcare.
