Karen Thorud: My name is Karen Thorud. I am a singer and an actress and a mover, and I'm a person with a disability. I have bipolar and developmental disabilities.
I won’t always be the first person to catch on, but eventually I can be taught, I will catch on. Someone told me, “Karen, you are slow, but you are good.” I'm slow, but I'll catch on. I'm slow, but I’m teachable. I’m slow, but I am good. People with disabilities were made to not give up. If at first, you don't succeed, try, try again.
Host: Keep Moving Forward is supported by The Minnesota Council on Disability, The Minnesota Humanities Center and the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, online at Ampers.org.
