The Untold Story of the Jacob Wetterling Documentary Film with Director Chris Newberry

In today’s Untold Story of Central Minnesota. Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with documentary filmmaker Chris Newberry about a project that has deep ties to our area, the Jacob Wetterling Story. Newberry and his team began filming with the Wetterling family and Resource Center back in 2015 just before an arrest was made in this nearly three-decade old case, and the raw footage of that period in time makes up the documentary. Now they are touring the area on a mission to raise funds to complete the editing of this project and produce a finished product that can properly convey the intense changes that have happened within our communities following Jacob’s abduction. Newberry and his team will be joined by Patty and Jerry Wetterling as well as representatives from the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center Monday, May 6th, at 6:00pm at Bad Habit Brewing in St. Joseph for a discussion about the film and a trailer release in hopes of raising those funds. This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
