Summer is a great time for getting outside and appreciating nature especially when you live in a river town such as Winona. The Mississippi river is a treasure and another treasure we have here in town is the Minnesota Marine Art Museum which is also right on the river. The museum always has a lot of great exhibits, programs and special events and summertime is no exception. Kelsey Didrikson – English teacher at Roseau, MN public schools – shares details on the “Write On” writers’ program in the school system, which involves students writing stories for the local/regional newspaper – The Roseau Times-Region News. The “Write On” program was initiated through a grant they received from the NWMAC.
This Mahtowa, Minnesota singer/songwriter is releasing her latest album, Boss Mama, on Friday, August 23 at Wussow’s Concert Cafe, backed by her band Jebberhooch, which includes members of The Holy Hootenanners and The Brothers Burn Mountain. We looked forward to hearing some of the new tunes when she joined us in the studio that afternoon for a live session.
