The Untold Story of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation

With the COVID-19 pandemic and accompanying restrictions not going anywhere any time soon, local non-profit organizations are doing their best to adapt and evolve, and one particular organization has found a deeper connection with its mission as this process continues. This organization would be the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.

In today’s Untold Story of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with Executive Director Caryl Turnow and KVSC Alumna Chrissy Gaetke from the Central Minnesota Community Foundation about the new direction their work has taken. While the Foundation has had a good response to the virus, they now look to the recovery process with upcoming chances for community members to “Get on the Bus” for virtual tours of the organizations that the Community Foundation is helping as well as a series of webinars designed to enhance actions within our communities.

The next chance to “Get on the Bus” will be this Monday, November 16 with a virtual tour of the new Tri-County Humane Society building.

In today’s Untold Story of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with Minnesota Housing Finance Agency Commissioner Jennifer Ho about a $100 million program that is finally bringing us some good news in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning just last week with availability up through the end of the year, the COVID-19 Housing Assistance program is designed to help prevent evictions and maintain housing stability for those who have been financially affected by the pandemic. Partnering with the United Way’s Call 211 system, the MHFA has already helped over 10,000 Minnesota households, and they are looking to help YOU too!
