Today on Art Beat we talked with Sarah Johnson, the Joy Labs Founder to hear more about their collaboration with the Winona Public Library. The project is focusing on creating a positive space for youth in Winona while emphasizing an increase in mental health programming. She talked all about the project, what mental health means to her, and the benefits that this project will bring. I’m Brylee Harris, stick around as we hear more about mental health, art-based programming from Sarah Johnson today on Art Beat.

Host, Carl Unbehaun, presents a cavalcade of songs by Minnesota songwriters along with his musical musings! Nothing but DUOS on this episode, including Curtis & Loretta, Sardine Brothers, and Two Tone, plus you host tries Castle Danger Cream Ale (but not in the studio)–all on MHB!
Every first Friday of the month we check in with Katie Marshall from the MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids to find out what will be happening on First Friday. Katie did not disappoint today! Artists in the attic, reading challenges, live music, a printmaking workshop and and exhibit that consists of 98 pieces, each less than 10″ in size! All that and a soon-to-be ice cream truck make this First Friday in May pretty magical!
