Students, Teacher Learn Lessons on a Phony Blood Trail

Based on what you see on TV hunting shows, hunting deer seems like a breeze. But TV hunters are far removed from the reality of hunting in the Minnesota woods. Here, a deer is often visible for just a few brief moments before it disappears again in the brush. Sometimes a deer falls down when you shoot it, but often it runs away, vanishing as quickly as it appeared. Following a deer through the woods can be challenging—very challenging. The blood trail may be difficult to find and follow. In this edition of Points North, Shawn shares the story of his latest class on tracking a deer and the lessons he and his students took away.
