The Live Feed Presents: James “Mudcat” Grant

This week on the Live Feed we visit with an artist who opened for the comedian Steve Martin in downtown Denver, Colorado back in the 70s. James “Mudcat” Grant has been passionately playing rock and Americana music for 47 years. James, born and raised in Winona, MN, remembers the moment he decided he wanted to become a musician. As a sophomore in high school on his way back from a swim meet, the Beatles came on the radio. This was “Mudcat's” initial inspiration to join a band. James talks about the history of Winona and how the area has changed in the last 50 years. He also tells us a number of stories about his experiences with a high school band, and how he transformed into the musician he is today. We head to Ed’s No Name Bar for the interview, and then back to KQAL headquarters for an in-studio performance from James “Mudcat” Grant. Lisa Ostrander hosts this edition of The Live Feed.
