PLAY | 44:53

Previously on Culture Clique, we journeyed to West Saint Paul to learn about the legacy a nun named Sister Giovanni – lovingly referred to as Sister G – left behind. What started out as a house with 8 students being tutored by a brazen woman of faith, transformed into a school that not only provides a high school education, but also job certifications, bilingual education and more. The Guadalupe Alternative Program (know as GAP) has changed the lives of thousands for the better. Today we visit with Sister Giovanni’s fellow sisters of Note er dame as the share with us stories of her strong character and drive to help other succeed. We’ll visit with those who worked with her at The Guadalupe Alternative Programs on how Sister G was not your ordinary Nun. In closing, we will hear an interview with actor and Winona native Rosalie Tenseth as well as her an excerpt of her performance portraying Sister Giovanni from the play Hometown Heros’ originally written by Lance Belleville for the Great American History Theatre in St. Paul
