The vocal jazz group Rio Nido started exciting audiences in the Twin Cities and elsewhere in 1972.The group sang classic jazz and vocalese, but after about 15 years, the run was done and group members split up to do other things. But the original trio of Prudence Johnson, Tim Sparks and Tom Lieberman is now back together. Their next show is at the Dakota in Minneapolis, Wed Dec 27 at 7pm. Rio Nido’s show contains some of their old favorites, with many new things added.
