North Indian and Persian Cultures Combine in a New Twin Cities Production

Rita Mustaphi has lead Kathak Dance Theater for decades. Maryam Yusafzadeh has led the Persian-based musical group, Robayat for a similar duration, with Tim O’Keefe at Maryam’s side for most of the time. The three are combining their talents and companies to create a new work called “The Rubaiyat: Life in a Day.” It combines music, dance and poetry. The Rubaiyat can be experienced at the Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts November 7-9, 2014.
