Centerstage Minnesota: Eric Pollard, AKA Actual Wolf: Part Two

Minnesota Arts, Culture and History | Music | Culture | Northern Community Radio – KAXE & KBXE
Eric Pollard has been an integral part of some key Minnesota bands including Retribution Gospel Choir, Sun Kil Moon, and the world renown Low. Pollard's newest band, Actual Wolf, is the first project in which this highly seasoned musician is the central creative force behind the music. Actual Wolf began with two somewhat quiet releases, one full-length acoustic record, "USA," and a band EP, "Lightning and the Wolf," both of which made substantial waves despite light promotion and distribution. Last October, Duluth's Chaperone Records released Actual Wolf's self-titled, full length record, this time fanning the flames of publicity very effectively. With the next release from Actual Wolf expected soon, combined with the quality of Eric Pollard's music, his knowledge of the music game, network of friends and colleagues, and insatiable artistic drive, the sky may represent more of stepping stone than a limitation to Grand Rapids, Minnesota native Eric Pollard. In this episode of Centerstage Minnesota we hear the second of a two part interview featuring Eric Pollard talking with Charlie Pulkrabek. Music also from Terry N' Em, Brian Laidlaw, Sam Miltich & Dave Karr, and Wanda Davis.
