Saving the Upper Post at Fort Snelling
Historic Fort Snelling served as a military base for over 120 years before becoming a historic site and adjacent state park. The Upper Post is a part of the Fort that most Minnesotans are probably not familiar with. Living quarters, meeting halls, a former hospital and gymnasium make up the remnants of dozens of mostly abandoned buildings on the grounds of this best kept secret. While many of the buildings are dilapidated, some are undergoing renovation to house homeless veterans. KFAI producer Dan Greenwood has the story.
