The Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations (Ampers) is seeking a highly
experienced technical radio producer to help create content, oversee the technical aspects of
all programs to ensure they meet or exceed broadcast standards, and help member stations to
build stronger production capacity and resources.
Duties will include:
-Recording and editing segments as needed
-Creating and maintaining a podcast distribution infrastructure
-Creating and enforcing production standards
-Teaching producers how to meet the production standards
-Assisting producers with technical problems
-Ensuring all programs are the proper length
-Ensuring audio levels are appropriate and standardized
-Providing producers and editors with feedback that can help them to improve their work
-Providing Ampers Program Director with regular updates
-Uploading all programs to Public Radio Exchange (PRX) and/or similar file sharing service
or site
-Ensuring all Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF) programs created by Ampers and its
member stations appear on PRX and the Ampers website
-Working with Project Coordinator and member stations to ensure all ACHF programs
and segments are produced, distributed, and archived as required by the ACHF grant
agreements
Additional duties as assigned by Ampers Program Director and CEO
Required Qualifications:
-At least four years of radio production experience (public radio preferred)
-Extensive experience with audio editing and mixing
-Excellent writing and communication skills
-Work must be performed within the state of Minnesota
Desired Qualifications:
-Experience with WordPress
-Experience with podcast distribution
Equipment Requirements
-Candidates must have access to their own production facility
-Candidates must have their own broadcast quality portable recording device
-Candidates must provide their own transportation
-Candidate must have their own high?speed internet to be able to office from home
Relationships
-The Production Coordinator will report to the Ampers Program Director
Conditions of Employment:
This position is fulltime. The successful candidate will provide his or her own
transportation related to any and all Ampers work. The position is open to all
